If you’re not sure what you can and can’t undertake make sure you read the Electrical Safety Act 2002 on the Australian Work Cover Website. But if you don’t get the time to read that, in short. Don’t do any of the following yourself, Manufacturing, constructing, installing, testing, maintaining, repairing, altering, removing or replacing of electrical equipment. You can purchase all the equipment but installing them yourself, without an electrical contractors licence is illegal. Why? A large amount of house fires in Australia are due to faulty or dodgy electrical work sparking and starting a small fire which increases to consume the whole house. Electricity is a very dangerous thing and shouldn’t be messed with unless you’ve got the licence. Oh and not to mention that the penalties for “DIYing it” can be hefty up to $40,000 for individuals. If the breach causes a death it could be $100k or if you’re a business a lot lot more. So leave it to DLC electrical solutions. We’re the professionals and we’ve done it many many times before.
Maybe it’s time you had a couple things installed into your house, you could start with something simple, maybe to cool down in your alfresco or patio area you could add some ceiling fans, there’s some great ones these days that can really push some air your way, keep the fly’s at bay and keep everybody comfortable. Or maybe when winter hits you still want to have that BBQ outside but it’s a little chilly, a little to cold to do it. Have you checked out the radiator ceiling heaters you can get these days.
