directors update

As we move through winter, it's been great to see just how much is happening around our community. From local events and school activities to community gatherings, our team has been out and about catching up with familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones along the way. Being part of our local community has always been one of the things I enjoy most about what we do. This month's newsletter is packed with what's been happening around town, along with plenty of property updates, so I hope you enjoy having a read.

We're also excited to be hosting another online Careers Evening on 20 July. If you've ever wondered whether real estate could be the right career for you, this is a relaxed, no-pressure opportunity to find out more. We'll share what the industry is really like, answer your questions, and give you an honest insight into whether it could be a good fit. You never know where one conversation might lead.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Whether you've trusted us with your property journey, referred a friend or family member, or simply stopped to say hello while we've been out and about, we genuinely appreciate being part of this community.

Property is our business, people are our priority. If you're thinking about buying, selling, renting, investing, or you're simply curious about what's happening in the local market, we'd love to have a chat.

Warm regards,

Nicky Horsbrough
Director

7 Years at 92 Commercial Road!

Last week we celebrated 7 fantastic years in our current office building... and what better way to celebrate than with cake? (It's basically office policy!).

From helping families find their dream homes to welcoming familiar faces through our doors, it's been an incredible seven years filled with laughter, hard work, and unforgettable moments.

Thanks to our amazing community for being part of the journey, we can't wait to see what the next seven years bring!

Happy Birthday, Graeme McLeod!
A true local legend, an all-round great guy, and someone we're lucky to have on our team. Thanks for bringing your knowledge, humour, and community spirit to everything you do.
Wishing you a fantastic birthday and an even better year ahead. Enjoy your special day, you've earned it!

Learning and Growing at NZREC 2026

Nicky and Brandon recently attended NZREC 2026, one of New Zealand's leading real estate conferences, for a day of learning, inspiration and connecting with others across the industry.

From market insights and auction expertise to leadership, communication and relationship building, there were plenty of valuable takeaways from an incredible lineup of speakers. One message stood out above all else – success comes from consistently doing the fundamentals well.

At Harcourts The Difference, we're always looking for ways to grow, learn and stay ahead, so we can continue delivering the very best experience for our clients and our community.

We're swapping our work shoes for sneakers!

On Friday 17 July, our team will be lacing up our favourite (or most creative!) kicks for Harcourts Sneaker Day in support of the Harcourts Foundation.

Not only will Sneaker Day spark a little friendly competition between Harcourts offices (who doesn't love a bit of bragging rights), but it will also help raise valuable funds for the Harcourts Foundation, supporting community organisations and initiatives that make a real difference.

If you spot us out and about in our sneakers on Friday 17 July, you'll know exactly why! Here's to making a difference, one step at a time.

Trusted by New Zealand. Proud to serve our community.

We're delighted to share that Harcourts has once again been recognised as New Zealand's Most Trusted Real Estate Brand in the 2026 Reader's Digest Trusted Brands Awards.

While this is a national achievement, it's the trust we build right here in our local community that means the most. Every conversation, every property journey, and every relationship is built on a commitment to putting people first.

We're proud to be part of this community and look forward to continuing to help local people achieve their property goals for many years to come.

Thinking about buying but not sure what happens when?
You're not alone, the buying process can feel overwhelming, especially if it's your first time.

This guide from settled.govt.nz is really useful for breaking things down step by step. It covers what to expect at each stage, from doing your homework to settlement day, and everything in between.

tools of the trade - meet your local legend

This month we're shining the spotlight on Pro Waterblasting Rodney & Whangaparāoa!

From house soft washing and roof treatments to gutter cleaning, driveway restoration and commercial property cleaning, Emilie and her team help local homes and businesses look their best. Their gentle soft washing techniques remove dirt, grime and mould while protecting the surfaces they care for.

We know their work first-hand! Over the weekend, the team gave our office a much-needed wash and the results were amazing. The building looks fresh, bright and welcoming, and the service was professional, friendly and efficient from start to finish. It's always a pleasure supporting local businesses, especially when we can genuinely recommend them from our own experience.

If your home, rental or commercial property could use a refresh, check out their website here, or their Facebook page here, and support an awesome local business!
