What's so good about Melbourne, Australia

Besides the fact that I live here there are some unique tastes in early '80's music

For example - where else did Lovesong by Simple Minds go top 10 (not England and certainly not America), how about Homosapien by Pete Shelley (number 9 here no sign anywhere else), even Lined Up by Shriekback charted in the top 30 here but nowhere else. And that's just the S's!

Many people write asking where to find certain CD's or vinyl on many of the bands I cover in these pages.
Although I don't mind this I tend not to be able to help in any great way (partly due to geography)
and usually wish people luck in trying to find them in on-line or second hand stores.
